One of my favourite cities. It is the second time within a year that I have visited. Exeter is very much a ‘Stagecoach’ preserve and seeing as they were featured in my earlier blog I will look elsewhere on this occasion
YJ58 PHK
The ubiquitous Optare Solo in the service of ‘Dartline’.
It carries the name ‘Bobbie Angela’ and no doubt reflects the wife or daughter(s) of a ‘Dartline’ employee.
WK51 CAP
The last time I was here, I saw a battered ‘Western Greyhound’ Alexander ALX 400 bodied Dennis Trident with a London background registered LX51 FNW. This time it was another of the same, again with a London background and looking just as battered.
HX08 DHJ
A Volvo B9TL with Wright Eclipse Gemini bodywork working for ‘First Hampshire & Dorset’ having brought the lengthy X53 in from Poole.
Although currently painted in ‘First’s rather insipid fleet livery it was at one time adorned with the much more colourful
‘Jurassic Coach’ branding.
I am slowly riding this 4 hour plus route. Two years ago I did the Poole to Weymouth bit, last year it was Weymouth to Bridport. So maybe I will get to complete it this year ??
YJ06 YRC
Another Optare Solo this time in the employ of ‘Country Bus’ of Heathfield near Newton Abbot.
At one time this bus worked for ‘Henshaws Coaches’ in the Morton-in-Marsh area of the Cotswolds.
WA58 NHV
An Alexander Dennis Ltd. Enviro 200 again of ‘Country Bus’
CV55 AZN
A Volvo B12B with Caetano bodywork that was new to ‘Silcox’ of Pembroke Dock.
Like many operators, ‘Silcox’ lease coaches to ‘David Urquart Travel’ (DUT) to work that operators holiday tours.
PK63 BUU
A Neoplan N2216 Tourliner again in ‘DUT’ livery.
Owned by a A.C. Howick who trades as ‘Hargreaves Coaches’. The company is based at Hebden near Skipton in North Yorkshire.
YUU 556
A BOVA FHD12-340 Futura in the fleet of ‘Roselyn’ from Par in Cornwall.
KX05 KFF
A Dennis Dart with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodywork working for ‘Turners’ of Chulmleigh.
At one time it was part of ‘Dawson Rentals’ hire fleet and whilst with them spent some time with ‘First Glagow’.
A new model Ford Transit in the service of ‘Stagecoach’.
Dam!! I said I was going to give them a miss, they get everywhere. If you look very closely, you can just see the logo on the bonnet.
