‘Scene’ on a PSV Circle Organised Visit ‘Redline Travel’, Penwortham, Preston 3 on Dennis Basford’srailsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

The PSV Circle (of which I have been a member for some years) aims to hold an Annual General Meeting in a different location in the UK every year.

Usually held at a weekend, they also include visits to operators and other bus related venues for the attending members to visit and enjoy.

This year, the location being in the North West of England centred on the Holiday Inn Express, Preston.

Friend Peter Rose joined me for what turned out to be a sometimes wet, but very enjoyable weekend.

As we have done before, we have combined all the images we have gathered.

The credits being joint D.Basford/P.M.Rose.

Whilst we were at ‘Redline’, it was raining heavily.

The company are to be congratulated for presenting the fleet to the standard they did.

‘Scene’ out and about, ‘Bits & Pieces 3’ on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

Most of my blogs have some sort of theme or purpose.

There are, however, times when something just happens to turn up that does not fit any category.

Collectively they are just ‘Bits & Pieces’.

Individually they can be interesting.

See if there is anything out of these that you like.

‘Scene’ when Derby Railway Station was ‘Bustituted’ 2 on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

Derby railway station has been closed for major refurbishment work since July which will continue through to October.

Travellers through Derby have found that they have had to switch to buses and coaches for the onward journeys.

The operation seems to have been well organised with a selection of vehicles from a wide range of operators being used.

For earlier blogs on this subject see blog published 18/08/2018 and 28/09/2018.

Although some published records show this bus as being oerated by ‘notts+derby’.

The legal titling clearly shows the operator as being MGOC.

The livery is the debranded form of ‘trentbarton’s ‘skylink express’.

‘Scene’ Outside Nottingham's Broadmarsh Bus Station 1

Most of my images in Nottingham come from on the streets but on this occasion, I positioned myself at the Broadmarsh Bus Station.

Inside, it is dark and gloomy whilst outside, you are shooting across several lanes of traffic. Admittedly the traffic is light controlled but you do need to be quick.

The first image shows the exit to the bus station with two ‘trentbarton’ (tb) Scania L94UB’s with Wright Solar bodies waiting to leave.

Behind them is another of the same being followed by a Nottingham City Transport East Lancs bodied double decker which are waiting to turn right across the face of the two Scanias.

Above it all is one of Nottingham’s first batch of Trams about to enter arrive at its railway station terminus.

The '9' came to 'Kinchbus' when the previous operator, 'Premiere' of Nottingham went out of business 2 years ago.
