‘Scene’ at Munich Airport (MUC) 1 on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

So, like all other holidays, this one came to an end with our departure from Munich Airport.

It was the first time I had flown with ‘Lufthansa’. Who were very good, I couldn’t fault them.

Flights on time, cabin service excellent. Staff very helpful.

The big surprise about Munich Airport is how big it is.

The second largest in Germany after Frankfurt and eighth biggest in Europe.

Very busy even on a Wednesday afternoon.

Blogs covering our journey to Munich from Manchester were posted on 09/06/2020 and 30/06/2020.

Readers seeking further details on particular aircraft are recommended to Google the aircraft type and the c/n. ie. Airbus A319-114 c/n 853.

‘Lufthansa’, the largest operator at Munich is a major operator of the Airbus family, the baby of which is the A319.

The aircraft behind is one of the few remaining Airbus A340-642’s (D-AIHV) in 'Lufthansa’s fleet and followed us out to take off bound for Boston in the USA.

I have looked on Flight Radar to see if it is still in service. There are no recent entries for it so presumably like many other four engined airliners, it has been withdrawn.

‘Scene’ at Manchester International Airport (MAN) once more 1 on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

Since publishing this blog, it has been pointed out to me by correspondent ’SpeedbirdA350’ that my use of the initials of Manchester International Airport i.e. MIA is confusing in that MIA is the recognised identification for Miami International Airport whereas the correct identification for Manchester is MAN or EGCC.

I have amended the blog with the correct designation for the airport and thank ’SpeedbirdA350’  for taking the time and trouble to get in touch. Dennis,

I have already posted blogs with images at ‘MAN’ this year. They were all taken from the spectators area.

This batch of images were taken airside from the Departure Lounge whilst we waiting for a  flight to Munich for a short holiday.

Readers seeking further details on particular aircraft are recommended to Google the aircraft type and the c/n. ie. Airbus A220/Bombardier CS220  c/n 50011.

Named ‘Canton de Geneve’.

Regular viewers of my blog might have spotted that after some years, I have changed the images that form the ‘banner’ at the top.

This particular image now represents the ’Runways’ element to the blog.
