‘Scene’ at Exeter St. Davids Railway Station on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

I expect that with a title like that, you might be expecting one of my ‘rails’ blogs.

But no, it’s about buses because at the time I was there, buses were being substituted for trains on some services due to engineering work.

I like these events because literally anything can (and does) turn up.

NER 621 ‘First South West’ No. 23318First Kernow Cornwall’s Coach Company’. Scania K114EB / Irizar PB

on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

New registered as YN55 PXJ to ‘First Coaches’.

Irizar PB’s with a destination box are unusual. This one and others like it were new operating an express service in 2014/5 from Cardiff and Swansea to Bristol Airport in a ‘Greyhound’ livery which failed to generate sufficient custom and was withdrawn.

‘First’s ‘Greyhound’ was an attempt to enter the specialist long distance coach market occupied by the likes of ‘megabus.com’ and ‘national express’.

To see an image of classmate YN55 PXL in its ‘Greyhound’ livery go to my blog dated 06/05/2015.
