‘Scene’ in Sheffield. ‘Buses for Sheffield’, ‘Stagecoach Yorkshire’ on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

‘Travel South Yorkshire’ have introduced the ‘Buses for Sheffield’ scheme which sees a voluntary partnership between the operators in the City to improve bus travel across the City.

The slogan for the partnership is ‘One City. One service’.

Curious to see how this scheme might be progressing, I ventured forth, camera in hand!

The major operators in Sheffield are ‘First South Yorkshire’ and

‘Stagecoach Yorkshire’.

They both appear to be displaying ‘Buses for Sheffield’ and ‘One City. One service’, logos superimposed on the standard fleet livery so that no one is in any doubt as to who owns the buses.

This is different to London and the West Midlands where the livery is or will be uniform across all operators.

I did not see any buses belonging to other operators in the City displaying the same logos.

That’s not to say that they don’t display the logos, only that I did not see them.

This is the first time that I have seen ‘Streetlites’ in service with a ‘Stagecoach’ group company.

I saw many ‘Stagecoach Yorkshire’ double deckers where the only reference to ‘Buses for Sheffield’ was either side of the destination box and ‘One City. One service’ was above the destination box.
