This is my 500th. blog and to mark the occasion I am going back to my roots.
To where the interest in transport all began for me in The City of Sheffield where I was born and grew up.
It was always a puzzle to me how in what was then a dirty city, from smoke, soot, smog etc. why anyone should choose a colour scheme that was mainly cream.
Having done so to then go to the lengths that were gone to to keep the fleet clean was quite remarkable.
Should any old ‘SCTD’ employees get to read this, I take my hat off to you.
