Home being Ripley in Derbyshire.
I have taken a leaf out of friend Peter Roses’s book in that when my wife and I go for our daily walk, I take my camera.
So far it has yielded the following.
YX20 OJS ‘trentbarton’ No. 174 ‘mango’. Alexander Dennis Ltd. (ADL) E20D / ‘ADL’ Enviro 200MMC
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
In a blog posted on 12/03/2021 covering the Alexander Dennis Ltd. (ADL) E20D / ‘ADL’ Enviro 200MMCIn ‘trentbarton’ service. I commented that
“As part of the ’20' delivery, a further number of buses were delivered in the ‘mango’ livery.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 regulations virtually banning ‘unnecessary’ travel.
They have as yet avoided my camera”.
That is no longer the case.
Pictured working in from Nottingham.
YX60 DZA ‘Operator unknown’. Volkswagen T5 / Bluebird Tucana
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
Over 250 of these buses were purchased by ‘London Transport’ for use on ‘Dial a Ride’ services in the capital.
‘Bluebird’, now part of the ‘Mellor’ group built these mini buses in Scarborough on a site adjacent to the Alexander Dennis Ltd. (ADL) group’s factory on the outskirts of the town.
I had the pleasure of being shown round the plant some years ago when the London buses were in build and it is good to see that at least one is still with us!
