For part 1 see blog posted 02/04/2021.
Home being Ripley in Derbyshire where it was a sunny spring afternoon which casts some ‘arty’ shadows across the buses.
Five of my last six blogs this month have concerned the centenary of ‘Hulleys of Baslow’.
There are more to come. They have been very successful in the numbers of ‘hits’ the images have achieved.
However, I have decided for one blog, for those who might like a change, I would do something different.
Fret not, ‘Hulleys of Baslow’ will be back tomorrow.
I have taken a leaf out of friend Peter Roses’s book in that when my wife and I go for our daily walk, I take my camera.
So, following on from last weeks ‘Close to Home’, is this selection.

on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
Pictured on its way to Derby on service 9.1 from Mansfield.
‘trentbarton’ have a route numbering system that allows for buses serving the same termini to follow different routes in getting there.
For example, the 9.1 serves The East Midlands Designer Outlet adjacent to Junction 28 on the M1, South Normanton and Kilburn.
The 9.3 serving Pinxton and Kirkby in Ashfield.

on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
Pictured working service 138 from Codnor to Alfreton although it is branded for the ‘Mansfield Miller’.
This route, ‘Stagecoach’s only route (so far) that works into Ripley was picked up when ‘yourbus’ of Heanor went out of business in October 2019.

on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
Pictured wearing ‘tb’s spare bus livery filling in for a branded vehicle on service 9.3.
The Scania/Wrights in the fleet are well on in years, this one being 17 years old. I keep writing that they can’t go on forever but they keep proving me wrong.
Long may it continue!!
