I have attended a number of SHOWBUS events over the years but this was the first time I had attended one at the Hertfordshire County Showgound.
The 50th. show and if we are to believe what we read, the last.
It would be a great pity if the reputation the SHOWBUS name has built up over the years were to be lost but we shall have to wait and see.
The title London Open Toppers might conjure up certain expectations but I doubt that the two buses pictured here would be amongst them. However!

New in 1912, the restoration having taken 30 years to complete.
I know of a number of ‘modern’ replicas of this type of bus but this is an original, albeit constructed from two separate buses.
The chassis being found in Aylesbury and the body that had become a store shed.

This plate is fixed to the rear of the bus and would appear to be a registration plate of some sort.
Does anybody out there know what it is?
