The last of a trio of blogs featuring images that were all captured on the same day (09/02/2022).
The first, posted on 09/02/2022 featured an elderly ex ‘trentbarton’ Scania/Wright single decker currently in temporary service with ‘Hulleys of Baslow’.
The second, featuring what I saw in Bakewell was posted on 13/02/2022.
Oddly enough, I had only gone to Chesterfield to see the Scania which I hoped might turn up.
It did so within five minutes of my arriving in the town.
The rest of the images were a bonus so to speak.

New registered GX54 DVG to ‘Stagecoach East Kent’.
Operating a ‘pronto’ service from Chesterfield to Nottingham.
The ‘pronto’ is normally operated with route branded Alexander Dennis Ltd. (ADL) E40D / ‘ADL’ Enviro 400MMCs so something must have been amiss to turn this eighteen year old out on what is a ‘premium’ service.
It must be years since I last saw a Trident/ALX400 in Chesterfield.
Still, it was a pleasure to see it.

At the time of writing, ‘Hulleys’ only double decker.
I have always associated the company with routes into and from the Peak District so it seems strange to me to see them operating Chesterfield town services and as far afield as Alfreton.

New to ‘Blue Bus’, Allanton, Scotland.
Pictured passing under the footbridge that links the town centre (left) to the car park.
The coat of arms mounted on the bridge is that of the
‘Borough of Chesterfield’ which carries the motto,
‘Aspire’.
When you consider that Chesterfields most noticeable feature is the crooked spire which stands over the church of Saint Mary and all Saints, it seems very appropriate on more than one level.
