‘Scene’ in Bury Transport Interchange, Lancs. ‘Diamond Bus’ Deckers on Dennis Basford’srailsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

The last 12 months or so has seen a number of blogs set in England’s North West.

A year ago it was from Warrington in Cheshire.

Earlier this year from Preston, Bolton and Manchester.

On this visit from Bury, and later in the day, Rochdale.

All five of which are in Lancashire.

An Interchange because of the passengers ability to access buses and the tram network that links directly into Manchester.

In recent years ‘Diamond Bus’, part of the ‘ROTALA’ group, have built their double deck fleet around the Wright Streetdeck.

Usually in the standard blue livery but now with more appearing in the yellow of ‘Transport for Greater Manchester’ franchised routes and branded as the ‘BEE NETWORK’.

For whatever reason, there appears to be some variation in the application of the branding.

I had seen two of these buses in the ‘Diamond Bus’ paint shop in Bolton on a PSV circle organised visit in April.

This, however, was the first time I had seen them in service.

I do not know what the vertical line of coloured diamonds on the staircase panel signifies.

I have seen different buses with blue, pink and green diamonds in Bolton and now this combination of purple and orange.

I thought it might be specific for service 471 but I also, have an image of a 471 with the blue diamonds ???

Also there is the addition of orange round the windscreen. A puzzle!
