Friend Peter Rose recently spent some time on the ‘North Norfolk Railway’ (NNR) where he captured these images.

564 ‘Great Eastern Railway’ Class Y14 0-6-0. Stratford built steam Locomotive

I have seen and ridden behind this loco in the past but it never looked as good as this!
In 1923, it became ‘LNER’ Class J15 No. 7564 later being re-numbered 5462 and then became No. 65462 under ‘British Railways’ ownership.
Finally withdrawn in 1963 coming to the ‘NNR’ in June 1967.

8572 ‘LNER’ Class B12 4-6-0. Beyer Peacock built steam Locomotive /1 of 2

The class was originally constructed by the ‘Great Eastern Railway’ commencing in 1912 as Class S69 which were also known as Class1500.
8572 was one of the last batch built for the ‘LNER’ in 1928.
It became No. 61572 in 1948 when the LNER was Nationalised and became part of ‘British Railways’.
Withdrawn in 1961 it eventually arrived on the ‘NNR’ in 1967.

Pictured at Sheringham at the head of a train made up largely of a Gresley designed ‘quad/art’ set.
The abreviation ‘quad/art’ means ‘Quadruple Articulated’.
Basically four coaches carried on five bogies.

The final vehicle in the rake is a four wheeled former LNER pigeon van which is used to carry cycles for those wishing to continue their journey on two wheels.
53809 ‘British Railways’ class 7F Midland Railway built 2-8-0 steam locomotive

Although built by the ‘Midland Railway’ at Derby it was one of eleven almost identical loco’s built in two batches for use on the ‘Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway’.
The ownership of which was joint with the ‘London & South Western Railway’ sharing with the ‘Midland’.
At the grouping in 1923, the new owners were the ‘LMS’ and ‘Southern Railway’.
Built in 1925 by Robert Stephenson and Co. it later became No. 13809 in LMS livery and No. 53809 under ‘British Railways’.
Withdrawn in 1964.
The 4 wheel van to which it is coupled is provided for the carriage of cycles on the train.
92203 ‘British Railways’ class 9F Swindon built 2-10-0 steam locomotive

Built in 1959 and withdrawn in 1967.
Bought for preservation by David Shepherd and named ‘Black Prince’.
Currently owned by the ‘NNR’.
