Friend Peter Rose recently spent some time in this great City to attend a concert.
These days, he takes his pictures on his iPhone but whatever he uses the results are excellent.
He has forwarded the following images which are reproduced with his permission and my thanks.
Looking at the times the images were taken, 20 minutes would seem to cover the lot.
Not a bad haul on a beautiful day.
To check the details of what is in the pictures, I have made use of ‘Go-North East’s official fleetlist.
It is a work of art with every bus listed in detail and then it is colour coded to identify the livery that every bus carries.
Brilliant!
NK11 FXB ‘Go North East’ No. 8319 ‘Northern’. Optare Versa V1110
on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’
Specially repainted to represent a vintage bus of the inter-war period even to the extent of painting on a radiator with the company’s name cast into the radiator top.
It was customary do this at that time. Manufacturers such as ‘Tilling Stevens’ did it.
In that case, It didn’t matter who owned the bus, you knew straight away who had built it.
New to ‘Go Northern’.

This image is one of my own and is included for completeness sake.
It is the only ‘GNE’ image I have ever taken and has not appeared previously.
Taken outside Durham Cathedral in July 2018.
‘GNE’ had two of these running a shuttle service from the railway and coach stations through the City and up to the Cathedral.
