‘Stagecoach’ groups ‘Gold’ branding has been with us now for seven years or so and it would seem to be on the way out being replaced by something simpler.
Thankfully, the new branding doesn’t seem to have got as far as Chesterfield yet so we are still able to enjoy the ‘Gold’ branding. At least for the time being.
On the day I was there, there was mixture of buses from various batches in service.
Some were carrying branding for service X17 which links Matlock with Barnsley via Chesterfield and Sheffield. Some were not.
However, it got confusing to me to see an unbranded bus on the X17, the branded service, whilst at least one X17 branded bus was in use on a cross town service that is usually unbranded.
Are you still with me?
Never mind, I will show you the images.

Working the X17 to Sheffield.
This bus was at one time branded for the X1 which ran from Chesterfield to Nottingham via the M1 which was discontinued presumably because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
