In the days of ‘Exeter Corporation Transport’, (ECT) the use of letters to identify routes instead of numbers was adopted.
This tradition was continued by ‘Devon General’ (DG) in 1970 when they took over the ‘ECT’ operation and in turn in 1996 when ‘Stagecoach’ took over the by now privatised ‘DG’ post ‘NBC’ the letter route identification continued.
