‘Scene’ at the Midland Railway Trust (MRT). Class 20’s at Butterley on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk

The Class 20 locomotives of ‘British Railways’ or ‘British Rail’ (BR) as it became were built to an English Electric design by both English Electric at Newton-le-Willows and by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn at Darlington between 1957 to 1968.

One of the more successful of the early diesels, the class totalling 228 is still widely seen both in preservation and still in service.
