Only 9 or so miles apart in distance but separated in fact by an enormous hill along the top of which runs the M62.

This bus has all the appearance of one that has had a hard life.
Bits of the branding are missing, the paintwork is chipped but I don’t suppose that at the age of eighteen it is going to be getting a lot of money spent on it.
It is working an express service which probably means it has covered many thousands of miles usually at a relatively high speed.
Intriguingly though, if you look very low down just to the front of the front wheel it is fitted with a guide wheel.
The only buses that I know of that have this feature are ones that do or have worked on guided busways.
The City of Leeds has or had a guided busway so seeing as the bus has always worked for ‘FWY’ I presume that is where it used to work.
I could bore for England on the topic of guided busways.
A very expensive ‘guided’ system that still requires a full time driver.
Where is the saving??
