‘Scene’ at the GCR’s Bus & Train Spectacular 3 on Dennis Basford’s railsroadsrunways.blogspot.co.uk’

The ‘Birmingham & Midland Motor Omnibus’ Co. (BMMO) was one of the great bus companies which spread right across the midlands both east and west and even into Wales.

‘Midland Red’ as it was better known is no longer with us having been broken up when the ‘National Bus Company’ was sold off.

Now long gone, some of the buses that served the company survive.

For many years the company built its own buses.

Some of which were:

New in 1948, the first post war coach .

Not obvious from the image but a centre door is fitted.

Being a sliding door, it must have kept the driver very busy attending to his 30 passengers.
