A new ‘Stagecoach gold’ service is something that does not happen everyday.
However on Sunday the 27th of October 2019 it did.
Chesterfield has for many years been linked to Nottingham via Mansfield by a service called ‘pronto’ running up to six buses an hour between Mansfield and Nottingham. (see my blog posted 18/07/2018).
The new service ‘X1’ serves both termini but is routed through Clay Cross, Alfreton, The East Midlands designer outlet at South Normanton then via the M1.
My wife and I joined the bus to Nottingham at Alfreton by which time it was standing room only.
No doubt the offer of travelling for the first week at 1 penny per passenger had something to do with that but for a new service, it was an impressive start.
