Chorlton Street is just one of many terminus points in Manchester being just off Portland Street and a minutes walk from Piccadilly Gardens.
Close by is the Coach Station which is used by many ‘National Express’ services.
‘Transdev’ use Chorlton Street as the terminus for its service ‘the witchway’ (my italics) linking Manchester through North Lancashire over the Yorkshire border to Skipton.
The ‘witch’ reference relates to the witches who were said to live on Pendle Hill near Burnley.
To refer to any of the following vehicles as buses is in my mind wrong. Although built on bus shells they are Coaches with all the services and comfort that that word implies these days.

More recently (April 2016) a new service, the X41 ‘redexpress’ has been launched from Manchester to Blackburn.
This uses Volvo B7TL/Wright Gemini Eclipse buses cascaded from ‘Transdev’s X36 service that runs from Leeds to Ripon. (This service having had new rolling stock).
