Local Independent ‘cumfybus’ provides a bit of light relief (literally) with their yellow livery.
Operating widely across Merseyside, its commercial and tendered services are run with almost a hundred buses of which more than half are Optare Solo’s.
Y12 GXA
An Optare Solo M810 Hybrid which entered service in December 2012.
YJ13 HNU
An Optare Solo SRE. I think these are very attractive little buses.
MX60 BXB
A Wright StreetLite WF now with ‘Cumfybus’ but originally with ‘Padarnbus’ in North Wales.
‘Halton Transport’ operates in the Borough of Halton which includes the towns of Runcorn and Widnes. Its history goes back to 1909 when ‘Widnes Corporation Motor Omnibus Department’ started operations.
DK54 JPO
A Transbus Dart with an East Lancs. Myllenium Spryte body.
X968 ULG
A Dennis Super Dart SLF with Marshall Capital bodywork.
AE57 FAM
An Alexander Dennis Ltd. Dart SLF with MCV Evolution bodywork.
PJ53 NKD
A Volvo B7TL with Plaxton President bodywork. Although liveried for ‘CitySightseeing Liverpool’ it is operated by ‘Ace Travel’. It was previously ‘Go- Ahead London’ PVL 358.
N757 OAP
A Scania N113DRB with East Lancs ‘Cityzen’. bodywork.
It came from previous owner ‘Brighton & Hove’ with its roof on and was converted to part open top by current owners ‘Maghull Coaches’.
It seems appropriate that the oldest bus I saw all day should have the letters OAP in its registration. Being one myself, I know how it feels. At least I don’t have to wander round Liverpool topless (or nearly so).
S848 DGX
A Volvo Olympian with East Lancs Pyoneer body again a member of the ‘Ace Travel’ fleet. Prior to coming to Liverpool, it had a spell with ‘Chambers of Bure’ and before that it was with ‘Metrobus’ in London. I believe it was supplied via Ensign the bus dealers.
NV51 YFT
A Volvo B12M with Jonckheere Mistral bodywork had a spell with ‘Meridian Line’ of Royston before joining ‘Tarbock Travel’ of Liverpool.
MX12 CFE
An Alexander Dennis Ltd. (ADL) E20D with ADL Enviro 200 bodywork in service with ‘Ace Travel’.
V1 BUS (Originally YJ59 GHV)
An Optare Tempo X1200 of ‘People’s Bus’ (PB).
Their website is unusual in that it has a spoken content and is probably the best operators website that I have encountered so go on, give it a go!!
